Admission Procedure
As a maintained two-form entry community school, all admissions for Reception through to Year 6 are made to the Local Authority - Brent Council. All parents or carers who wish to apply for a school place for their child at anytime in the year, need to submit an application to Brent Council. The council will liaise with you directly about a school place and will contact you with the outcome of your application. Brent Council have heard Admission Appeals from several parents who stated they were not aware that they needed to make an application until after the offer date. There have been a number of cases where parents who already had a another child in the school did not apply and therefore did not secure a place for an additional child. The pressure on places means that late applications will most probably miss out on a place at your chosen school, leading to distress, and more appeals. We advise all parents to be aware of the deadlines as displayed on the Brent admissions website listed above. Parents with Pupils in Year 6 applying for a Secondary School Place
If your child is starting secondary school in September 2026, and was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015, you will need to apply for a school place before 31st October 2025. You are strongly encouraged to check Brent's website and/or each school's website for the latest information about their open events before going to the school.
Reception Admission 2025
If your child is starting Reception in September 2025, and was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022, you will need to apply for a school place before 15th January 2026. All parents whose child has a place in our Nursery (September 2025) must also apply for a reception place via Brent Council for September 2025. There is no automatic transfer from our Nursery to Reception. Please visit the Brent admissions webpage.
Nursery Admissions
Parents applying for a morning place at Wykeham Primary School Nursery for this academic year (September 2025 - July 2026) need to apply directly to the school. Places are allocated using the criteria stated by Brent Council. Application forms are now available from the School Office for any child that is due to start pre-school education.
Pre-school places are available for children who are in the target age group i.e. who were born on or between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022. Please feel free to contact the School Office if you require any further information.
Admission to the Nursery does not guarantee a full-time place with the school. A separate application for a place in Reception needs to be made to Brent Council as detailed below.
If you intend for your child to start Nursery in September 2026, and was born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023, please apply directly to the school before 15th January 2026.
